If there is one cuisine my family loves that is Indian food. It usually goes without saying that when I return home to visit, we will go for an Indian. The same Indian restaurant that we have been visiting for over the last 25 years! (Shout out to Rajah, Inverness). So when I saw Mister Singh’s India Glasgow had a Pakora Masterclass, I knew this would be the perfect gift/family activity! Gifted to my dad as a Christmas gift, we attended just in time for his birthday.</span>

A Masterclass in Pakora Perfection
We arrived in the afternoon at Mister Singh’s ready for our class, hungry and ready to learn. As we sat around the table ready to start – I looked at the large array of ingredients warily, feeling that I may be slightly out of my depth. However, when the chef joined us, he immediately put us all at ease. Over the next 45 minutes, he expertly guided us through the step-by-step process of creating three distinct pakora options: veg, chicken and haggis, whilst patiently answering all our questions. Something that I found really interesting is that many regions of India consider pakoras as a rainy season comfort food. Perhaps this is why they are loved in Scotland!
One major thing to note is that this is a demonstration rather than a cooking experience. While we were a little disappointed that it was a demonstration rather than a hands-on class, the masterclass itself was incredibly insightful. We still learned so much about the art of making perfect pakoras and left with Mister Singh’s secret pakora recipe.
In addition to the masterclass, the booking also includes a three-course set meal featuring the freshly prepared pakoras. Even though we didn’t get to roll our sleeves up and join in, it was a truly enjoyable experience. And we all left excited to try our hand at making pakoras at home. If you’re looking for something a bit different to do in Glasgow or an out-of-the-ordinary gift, a Pakora Masterclass is definitely worth trying!
Until next time,
